大学英语改革后的《大学英语课程要求》对基础阶段的英语能力提出了更高层次的要求,更加强调了听说领先的宗旨。虽然改革后开设了口语课,但是由于课时所限,教师往往无暇顾及口语能力的培养,而且教师在实际教学中更注重读听写译能力的培养,而把说的能力的培养放在次要的位置上,这就导致了当前大学生普遍存在的“哑巴英语”现象。伴随着新大纲的出台,四级统考也开始尝试口语考试,这必定会对大学英语教学产生另一个意义深远的影响,那就是注重口语表达能力的培养。 The College English Curriculum Requirements after the college English reform put forward a higher level requirement for English ability in the basic stage, and more emphasis on the purpose of listening and speaking.
