糖原合成酶激酶3(GSK-3α和GSK-3β)是一种高度保守的丝氨酸/苏氨酸蛋白激酶,它能作用于多种底物,参与细胞增殖与存活、糖原代谢和自噬等调控。免疫组化研究发现GSK-3的两个亚型中,GSK-3α主要在雄激素依赖性前列腺癌表达增强,而GSK-3β则在雄激素非依赖前列腺癌中表达升高,且GSK-3β参与雄激素受体的转录活性调控和体内前列腺癌的生长。动物实验研究证实氯化锂等GSK-3特异性抑制剂对前列腺癌异植瘤生长具有显著抑制作用。GSK-3抑制剂有可能作为晚期前列腺癌的辅助治疗药物。
