活动断层是工程地质构造研究的一个引人关注的问题。为配合广东省龙门县天堂山水库的兴建,确保大坝稳定安全,对坝区内新构造时期断裂的活动性质、活动年代,以及地壳上升速率,采用地质地貌法与热释光测年法相结合进行判定,是个可行的途径。在以评价大型工程基础稳定性和地震预测为目的的断裂活动性研究工作中,加强由宏观向微观、由定性向定量的分析对比,将有助于提高对整个地区的构造稳定性及防治地质灾害的认识水平。
