Leukemic human lymphocytes were cultured in vitro for 1 day in medium containing 10 ~ (-7) M (0.04 μg / ml) ~ 10 ~ (-6) M colchicine. The dead cells were called “ Colchicine-ultrasensitive Lymphocytes (CUL), the remaining viable cells are called ”normal looking" cells. The latter is similar to a healthy human lymphocyte population and requires colchicine concentrations up to 10 -2 M to be killed within 1 day (1 to 100,000 times higher than CUL). Normally, the number of CUL in healthy human lymphocytes is less than 10%. These also include lymphocytes that naturally die without the presence of colchicine. Cile more often when the cells than healthy people.
