膨胀土的膨胀和相关的基础位移对许多结构物造成了严重的损害。对于艾尔比德(Irbid)的膨胀土来说,沿道路和公路许多建筑物已经显示出严重损坏,导致了相当高的维修费用。本文报道了为减小粘土的膨胀性而进行的一项试验研究的结果,并对几种稳定方法作了评价。这些方法包括了在各种含水量和容重下对土进行压实,对掺入不同比例的砂、石灰和水泥的土进行重塑和在孔隙液体中加入不同比例的盐。研究结果表明,所有这些方法均能不同程度而有效的减小试验土的膨胀特性。掺加石灰和预湿最适合于改善膨胀性,而盐溶液方法的效果相对较差。
The expansion of expansive soil and the associated base displacements cause serious damage to many structures. For Irbid’s expansive soil, many buildings along roads and highways have shown severe damage, resulting in considerable maintenance costs. This paper reports the results of a pilot study to reduce the swelling of clays and evaluates several stable methods. These methods include compaction of soils at various water contents and bulk densities, remodeling of soils incorporating different proportions of sand, lime, and cement, and the addition of varying proportions of salt in pore fluids. The results of the study show that all of these methods can reduce the swelling properties of the test soil to varying degrees and effectively. Addition of lime and pre-wet is best suited to improve the swelling, while the salt solution method is relatively ineffective.
