The formulation of the semi-colonial and semi-feudal society can be said to be a more accurate summary of the social attributes of modern China. However, one question that seems to have not been well settled in the long run is: what is the coherent overall characteristic of this generally accepted deformity social formation in its overall structure and mode of movement? In other words, how can it become a relatively independent Social Form? I think we can use “continuous transitional” to summarize the overall characteristics of China’s semi-colonial and semi-feudal society (1840-1949) and thus deepen the study of the social form. Semi-colonial semi-feudal society is actually a special kind of transitional society.
