Objective: To investigate the expression of interleukin-18 (IL-18) and leukocyte count (CML) in patients with varying degrees of coronary lesions in order to screen the severity of coronary lesions according to the plasma levels of inflammatory markers. Methods: The levels of interleukin - 18 (IL - 18) in plasma and white blood cell count (WBC) of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) confirmed by coronary angiography were measured. Then the levels of inflammatory markers in different degree of coronary artery disease were compared ; And compared the difference between DM group and non-DM group. Results: The levels of interleukin-18 and whole blood leukocyte count in patients with complicated coronary lesions were significantly higher than those in patients with simple lesions (P <0.05). The levels of interleukin-18 and whole blood leukocyte counts in ACS patients with DM were significantly higher than those in non-DM patients (P <0.05). Conclusion: There are significant differences in the levels of inflammatory markers in different degrees of coronary artery disease group and different risk factors group.
