一半日本血统,一半英国血统的藤原·西蒙(Simon Fujiwara)出生在英格兰一个偏远的渔村,他是同性恋,学过建筑,也学过艺术。单看这些经历,藤原在我们这个多种族、多学科的“全球本地化”时代里实在蕴含了太多潜力。我们在解读这位二十七岁艺术家的创作实践时,很难不去关注他的个人生活。更何况他的作品——涵盖了行为-讲座、雕塑装置以及书写文本等多个领域——几乎总是自传意味扑鼻,尽管也带有一丝自由的虚构元素。
Half of Japanese origin, half of British blood, Simon Fujiwara was born in a remote fishing village in England. He was gay, studied architecture and learned art. Looking at these experiences, Fujiwara has so much potential in our multi-ethnic, multidisciplinary “globalization” era. When we interpret the creative practice of the 27-year-old artist, it is hard not to pay attention to his personal life. Not to mention his work - which covers many fields of activity - lectures, sculpture installations, and written text - almost always autobiographical, though with a touch of free fiction.
