我局档案馆,是一九八四年由局机关档案室扩建而成的,它既负责省局机关的全部档案工作,又对下属单位的档案工作进行业务指导、监督与检查。即实行业务工作管到哪一级,档案工作管到哪一级。省局所辖的十八个地、市、州邮电局、十四个直属单位、七十一个县(市)局,都建立了档案室,武汉市电信局、邮政局、省传输局成立了档案科。全省邮电系统共有档案员一百七十四人,其中专职九十一人。专职档案员百分之八十以上都经过部、省举办的档案培训班培
