文化,从来不是个能够被轻易定义、区分的概念。对于文化,自古以来,各派学者的观点可谓多不胜数。其中法国社会学家皮埃尔·布尔迪厄于其著作《资本的形式》(TheForms of Capital)中曾提出“文化资本”(cultural capital)的概念,恰恰与下文所述的“文化之都”(capital of culture)遥遥呼应。“文化资本”乃一种必须通过教育洗礼历练而成的个人优势,与生活品位息息相关。布尔迪厄明确指出,在现代社会中,单凭传统的“经济资本”已不足以获得崇高的社会地位,取而代之的,正是“文化资本”。
