Objective To analyze the micronuclei of peripheral blood lymphocytes in radiation workers and investigate the effects of long-term low-dose ionizing radiation on the health of radiation workers. Methods Conventional culture method was used to analyze the micronuclei of lymphocytes in radiation workers. Results There were significant differences in the detection rates of lymphocyte micronuclei between 2927 radiation workers, radiation workers and control workers from January to November in 2013 and radiation workers of different working ages, showing a “quadratic curve” distribution . Conclusions The harm of ionizing radiation should be reduced. Radiation protection should be strengthened to ensure the health of radiological workers. In particular, the population with radiation seniority of about 22 years should be the key protection target.
