在西班牙塞维利亚,已是下午四时,忙碌了一天的国际奥委会主席萨马兰奇匆匆到塞维利亚世界博览会的中国馆参观。塞维利亚世界博览会是为纪念著名航海家哥伦布发现美洲新大陆500周年和巴塞罗那主办第25届奥运会而举行的。全世界110个国家、23个国际组织和西班牙17个自治区参展,这是本世纪规模最盛大的一次文化艺术和科技世界博览会。中国馆建筑面积2000平方米。展厅高大宽敞,门前一座高大、色彩艳丽的仿古建筑——“中华门”牌楼和迎门的一块巨大的“万里长城”工艺挂毯,交相辉映,相得益彰,展示了中华民族的文化艺术特色。
In the Spanish city of Seville, already four o’clock in the afternoon, the International Olympic Committee President Juan Antonio Samaranch hurried to visit the China Pavilion at the Seville World’s Fair.
