2002年6月14日至16日,北京清华园汇集了30余名来自亚洲、欧洲、大洋洲和北美各高校的翻译研究专家和学者,共同探讨新时代背景下翻译研究的新动向、新模式和新方法。此次研讨会由清华大学外语系（The Foreign Lan-guages Department,Tsinghua University）和香港岭南大学翻译系（The Department of Translation,Lingnan University）共同主办。 当今世界,翻译研究领域可谓百花齐放、百家争鸣,呈现出一派欣欣向荣之势。语言学派或文化学派独家称霸已不再可能,而多元化的跨学科翻译研究格局正悄然成形。正是在这样一种学科时代背景下,“翻译与跨学科研究”为主题的首届清华-岭南国际翻译学术研讨会在清华大学开幕了。此次研讨会上宣读的论文涉及翻译理论、翻译教学、比较文学、译介学、语言学、人类学、文化研究和影视研究等多个方面,体现了翻译研究领域的跨学科研究特点。与会代表认为,在当今这个信息技术高度发展的全球化时代,虽然越来越多的人开始学习英语,并用英语进行国际性学术文化交流,但翻译的功能非但没有减弱,反而变得越来越重要。代表们一致认为,中国的翻译家和研究者在引进西方学术成果、与西方学者对话的同时,更应以
From December 14 to June 16, 2002, Tsinghua Park in Beijing brought together more than 30 experts and scholars in translation studies from universities in Asia, Europe, Oceania and North America to discuss new trends, new models and approaches in translation studies in the new era new method. The symposium was co-hosted by The Foreign Lan-guages Department, Tsinghua University and The Department of Translation, Lingnan University. In today’s world, the field of translation studies can be described as flourishing, with hundreds of schools contending, showing a thriving and prosperous society. It is no longer possible for the linguistic or cultural schools to dominate exclusively, and the diversified interdisciplinary translation studies are quietly taking shape. It is in the context of such a discipline that the first Tsinghua-Lingnan International Translation Symposium on Translation and Interdisciplinary Studies was opened at Tsinghua University. The papers read in this symposium cover many aspects such as translation theory, translation teaching, comparative literature, translation and media studies, linguistics, anthropology, cultural studies and film studies, reflecting the interdisciplinary features of translation studies. Participants believe that in today’s highly-developed globalization era of information technology, although more and more people begin to learn English and conduct international academic and cultural exchanges in English, the function of translation has not only not weakened, but has become increasingly important.
