刚察县有草地面积69.48万公顷,其中可利用草场面积62.78万公顷。2002年以前,由于高原鼢鼠的活动猖獗,草地退化相当严重。为扭转这一局面,从2002年开始刚察县积极开展了高原鼢鼠的防治工作,截止2004年底,共完成鼢鼠防治面积6.27万公顷,完成计划任务的101.1%,捕捉鼢鼠267367只,使用资金52.5万元(其中:国家补助46.5万元,牧民自筹6万元),灭效达93.09%,成效显著。
In Gangcha County, there are 694,800 hectares of grassland, of which 627,800 hectares are available.
