按照中国传统的天干地支纪年法,今年是甲午年。往前推算两个甲子,也就是120年前的1894年,在内忧外患中风雨飘摇的清王朝被崛起的东亚近邻日本打败,苦心经营多年的北洋海军也全军覆没。这样一支曾经被众多史家认为是当时亚洲第一,在中日两国开战前两个月,还被中外舆论寄予厚望的北洋海军,为什么会在甲午海战中轻易地惨败呢?这其中有制度的问题,也有腐败的问题。为了这“不能忘却”的纪念,让我们在这里重新反思甲午战败。
