The hypothesis first proposed by Chailakhyan states that florigen is a flowering hormone. Some experiments support this theory, but have not been validated on woody plants. The flowering of the following year is a serious problem for some fruit trees including mangoes, while non-seasonal mango varieties can bloom many times in a year. ’Royal Special’ is the most promising species to use. The species in addition to flowering in November-December, but also in March-May flowering, the result period is extended to September-October.
