中华农业文明可以追溯万年以上,至少在3000年左右的历史长河中在世界上保持了领先的高度;以中国人传统生活方式为核心的中华农耕文化,在世界文明发展进步的今天,随着改革开放的深入而开始了转型、变迁的长征,中国农村发生了翻天覆地的巨大变化。人们希望探究:中国农村是如何逐步向现代农业文明跃升和过渡的?在这个过程中,传统的继承与变革出现了怎样的场景,发生了一些什么故事?又有哪些文明成果?为此,在中央文明办的统筹指导下,光明日报和《文明》杂志分别从《文明中国·乡村新览》和《文明中国·乡村纪事》不同的角度开设专栏,讲述中国新农村的变化发展故事。专栏还将与中央电视台、中国文明网等媒体,进行合作互动。中国历史表明:乡村与城市几千年来就是互动的文化结构;乡村以其广袤的地域、醇厚的民风、自给自主的治理方式和高效的生产能力为城市生活提供经济发展的资源、国防战略的腹地、文化传承的细胞和文明传播的土壤。“文明中国”是一个以传播传承文明思想为核心的主题,在这个大主题下,本栏目将不断发掘中国乡村历史文化渊源,展示乡村的自然环境、村容村貌、文化习俗、新旧生产生活方式、特色物产、乡规民约等文明传承和创新的成果。
