1996年9月，中央文献出版社出版的《毛泽东诗词集》，收录了作者1961年秋作的《七绝·屈原》：“屈子当年赋楚骚，手中握有杀人刀。艾萧太甚椒兰少，一跃冲向万里涛。”笔者认为编注者没有传达作者的原意，其本意应为：屈子赋楚骚之时，掌握着一定的军事权柄，《离骚》是他战斗的实录。屈原在国家危难时，率军奋虎，决心力挽狂澜。毛泽东借史述志，表现他在国际国内形势十分严峻的情况下，坚决捍卫国际共产主义运动，与修正主义进行殊死斗争一往无前的大无畏革命精神。
