Objective Superficial indwelling needle is a better method of clinical infusion, which can reduce the number of punctures during infusion and protect the peripheral blood vessels, and reduce the incidence of needle stick injury to nurses. In order to improve the success rate of indwelling needle puncture, this article on the needle puncture site choice and its fixation on the nursing experience. Methods By comparing the anatomic structures of commonly used parts of indwelling needle punctures, a better puncture site was selected and the method of fixing each site was described. Conclusion Indwelling needle preferred forearm vein and cephalic vein, hand dorsal vein can also be used as a site of choice, because the elbow median vein and forearm median vein by their own anatomical location reasons not as a routine choice of blood vessels, generally do not choose the lower extremity venous for indwelling needle puncture. Fixation method due to indwelling needle puncture site may be, in the placement of needle sticking before the application with a 3M tape to be better to prevent the retention needle displacement and prolapse.
