Objective To study the changes of dynamic electroencephalogram in patients with chronic alcoholism and to explore the clinical value of dynamic electroencephalogram in order to provide evidence for the early diagnosis of chronic alcoholism. Methods Fifty-six patients with chronic alcoholism underwent dynamic electroencephalography (EEG) examination and compared with the same period craniocerebral CT scan. Results There were 45 cases of EEG abnormalities in 56 patients with chronic alcoholism, the abnormality rate was 80.4%. The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05) compared with CT scan results (abnormality in 29 cases, abnormal rate was 51.8%), . EEG abnormalities mainly manifested as non-specific diffuse changes. Conclusions Dynamic EEG detection has some clinical value in the diagnosis of brain dysfunction in patients with chronic alcoholism.
