绿化公路,不仅具有稳固路基,美化路容和防雪、防沙、防风、防洪的作用,而且对隐蔽车辆、保障运输安全,具有重要意义。几年来,我省公路绿化,虽已取得一些成绩,但因树苗多不合规格,栽植和保护技术注意不夠,每年植树数字虽大,但实际保存率却很低。根据省公路运输厅统计,截至1957年止,全省公路仅绿化1,300余公里,只占现有公路五分之一,因此绿化公路是一项艰巨的任务,必须动员公路沿线群众大力绿
Greening roads not only have the function of stabilizing the roadbed, beautifying the road capacity and preventing snow, sand, wind and flood, but also have great significance for concealing vehicles and ensuring the transportation safety. In recent years, some achievements have been made in highway afforestation in our province. However, due to the unqualified saplings and inadequate attention on planting and protection techniques, the annual tree planting numbers are large but the actual preservation rates are very low. According to the statistics of the provincial highway transportation department, as of 1957, the province’s highway only covered more than 1,300 kilometers of roads, accounting for only one-fifth of the existing highways.
