学习任何一种知识,其最终目的,都是要将其运用于实际。语言尤其如此。美国著名语言学家乔姆斯基,在其代表作《句法理论的若干问题》一书中认为,“语言为精确地描写人类的语言知识和语言能力的工具。也就是说,语言应该把语言交际中含混的直觉知识和能力准确地表达出来。”乔姆斯基在此更多地强调了语言是一种“做的形式”,而不仅仅是一种已知的形式。可以说.“做的形式”在大学英语教学中的完整体现形式之一,便是写作。
