The energy budget of juvenile large yellow croaker was studied under starvation condition.The results showed that the excretion energy, metabolic energy and body mass were both exponential. Excretion was positively correlated with temperature, and the relationship between metabolic energy and temperature was quadratic. The body mass had no significant effect on the pattern of energy allocation under starvation, and the average energy budget equation was: 30.22 U +6 9.77R - 10 0G = 0. The energy allocation pattern showed a significant change with temperature
