Using his systematic approach, George Gallup has been able to keep society informed about what people think about issues. Prior to him, democracy could only be implemented by speculation, and the result of occasional elections also depended on letters from voter representatives. Selected officials now perceive the public’s intentions more accurately and can be perceived as becoming more and more sensitive to their aspirations. Gallup’s approach has also changed the market’s activity: In those areas under the current dictates of digital statistics, product inspection and advertising competition are just two of these areas. There is no doubt that statistics today has become a specialized large industry, and George Gallup is the industry’s Henry Ford.
