秋瑾(1875—1907),祖籍浙江绍兴,生于一个居住在福建闽侯的封建官僚家庭。少女时的秋瑾随祖父露轩在厦门办理洋务外交期间,亲眼目睹洋人嚣张跋扈的气焰及清政府官员的腐败与懦弱无能。生来禀性刚强的秋瑾,为之感到痛心疾首,也正是早年的这一段经历,催生了秋瑾日后反帝、反封建思想的萌芽。 Qiu Jin (1875-1907), native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang, was born in a feudal bureaucratic family living in Minhou, Fujian.
