都市报是由党政机关主办的,面向所在城市市民及周边地区城镇的,以反映和服务市民生活为主的综合性新闻报。近年来,随着报纸数量和发行量的剧增,数年之后都市类新闻产品市场迅速饱和,许多都市媒体不得不面对日趋激烈的同质化竞争,生存空间受到严重限制。在此背景下,来自政治权力、商业力量、庸俗文化等方面影响越来越强烈,许多都市报纸暴露出诸多弊病,如渲染“性腥星”现象,传播流言绯闻,发布虚假甚至违法广告等。无论是自觉还是不自觉,一部分都市类报纸正在逐步走向庸俗化、娱乐化……在我国市场经济转型与新闻事业巨变的关键时期,作为中国媒体市场化先锋的都市报媒体,面对往日的辉煌,如何寻求进一步发展之路,值得我们进行学理探讨。
