The International Conference on Modern Electrostatics was held in Beijing from October 21 to 24, 1988. 309 representatives from China and 51 foreign representatives from 10 countries and regions attended the conference. The Chinese delegates read and exchanged 93 papers and 47 foreign representatives at the conference and group meetings. One of the important features of this electrostatic meeting was the dominance of papers on electrostatic precipitation.
