江天一,字文石,安徽徽州歙县江村人士。弘光元年南京被清兵攻破之时,他相助金声抗清,收复宁国、宣城等县城,后因为官员降清并引兵断金声后路,遂败走辞别母亲,与金声一同被捕杀害。对于这样一位忠义烈士,魏禧和汪琬皆创作了《江天一传》,对江天一的事迹及品格加以传颂。然而二作在选材、主旨及风格上均体现出一定的差异。一、忠孝烈士与儒士形象魏禧及汪琬的《江天一传》在选材上虽有所重合,但相当一部分内容却不尽相同,既体现出作者在撰文时的不同思量,也塑造出形态
