《更多的人死于心碎》是贝娄1987年在他的晚年创作的一部佳作。这部作品集中体现了贝娄本人对当代社会婚姻,爱情和人际关系的思考。本论文运用米歇尔.福柯对微观权力理论的阐述,分析了小说中男主人公和叙述者的心理成长过程,解读贝娄对夫妻、情侣、亲属关系之间的权力关系的阐释,提出贝娄对压抑性的权力关系是否定,贬抑的;而对生产性的权力关系则是肯定,赞美的。
“More people die from heartbreak” is a good work Bellow created in his later years in 1987. This work embodies Bellow’s thinking on marriage, love and relationships in contemporary society. This paper uses Michel Foucault’s elaboration on the theory of micro power, analyzes the process of psychic development of the hero and narrator in the novel, explains Bellow’s explanation of the power relationship between husband and wife, couple and relatives, Lou’s repressive power relationship is negative and derogatory; while the power relationship with productive forces is affirmed and praised.
