Hypertension: there are two mechanisms of antihypertensive and antihypertensive in the central nervous system. To dogs, cats and other animals intracisternal injection of 5-HT can cause hypotension, its role in the rostral head. To dogs, rats and other animals intracisternal cholinergic substances can make animals continued to rise in blood pressure, the role of the site mainly in the posterior region of the hypothalamus. Central NE plays a more complex role. On the one hand, it produces antihypertensive effect through α receptors in hypothalamic prefrontal and medulla oblongata and blood pressure through β receptors in the posterior hypothalamic area. Maintaining normal blood pressure is the result of the struggle and coordination between the two central mechanisms.
