邓之诚在北大史学系任教近四年,1931年6月悄然离开。其原因显得扑朔迷离,甚至邓本人亦不明所以。实则,邓氏于1927年9月“国立京师大学校”时期入史学系任教,与先后掌校政的“浙派”和“新文化派”都甚为疏离。故四年来,邓氏每周上课至十小时而始终不得“教授”。1931年傅斯年负责史学系的改革,教员大幅更换,学术异同往往决定进退,是为主要推动力。因邓氏在史学系学生中深得人心,任事也颇勤勉,校方颇有顾忌。后“史一学生事件”发生,有诋邓氏“不堪任教”语,且斥诸报端。终至邓氏自动辞职,校方虽有挽留却已乏诚意,他的去职实为整个史学系人事革新中的重要一环。邓氏离开北大后,史学系的课程受到一定的影响,而他专任燕大史学系后史学观念渐倾向旧派,对胡适、傅斯年等多有抨击。 Deng Zhi Cheng Peking University history department for nearly four years, quietly left in June 1931. Because of Deng’s popular history in the Department of students, work is quite diligent, the school quite scruples. After “Shi Yi student incident ” occurred, there slander Deng “unprofessional ” language, and reprimanded newspapers. At the end of Deng’s resignation, although the school has retained sincerity, his removal is actually an important part of the history of the Department of personnel reform. After Deng’s departure from Peking University, the course of history department was influenced to some extent. However, after he devoted himself to the Department of History of Yan and Daxue, the concepts of history gradually tended to the old school, attacking Hu Shi and Fu Sinian.
