Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma leptin level and heart rate variability (HRV) in patients with coronary heart disease. Methods Eighty-six healthy subjects with coronary heart disease and 84 healthy controls matched for gender, age, body mass index, waist-hip ratio, fasting blood glucose, and lipids were measured for plasma leptin level and 24h HRV. Results The level of plasma leptin in CHD group was significantly higher than that in control group. The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05); heart rate variability parameter coronary heart disease group was lower than the control group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P <0.05), by linear correlation analysis found that coronary heart disease patients with plasma leptin level And HRV parameters have a negative correlation. Conclusion There is a negative correlation between plasma leptin levels and heart rate variability in patients with coronary heart disease, suggesting that plasma leptin affects cardiovascular diseases.
