在历史研究的过程中,首先必须面对史料问题。史料之多寡、优劣直接关系到史学研究的效果。同理,在先秦史研究过程中,文献问题亦为重要。晚清学人治学多求《四库全书总目》以窥学问之门径,故在今天研究先秦史的过程中,《四库全书总目》依然占据着重要的位置,然则其书卷帙浩繁,直接运用多有不便,今且于此试论述《四库全书总目》在先秦史研究中的作用。
