1997年6月,在蒋齐生同志80寿辰之际,中国新闻摄影学会为他举办了新闻摄影理论研讨会。这是中国新闻摄影界第一次为个人举办专题研讨会。遗憾的是,时隔一个月,他因脑血栓病复发,医治无效,于7月9日逝世。蒋齐生(1917—1997)出生于陕西户县。1937年9月进延安陕北公学学习。历任新华社驻北平办事处副主任、新华社摄影记者、新华社摄影部研究员,1982年离休,1983年组建中国新闻摄影学会并被推选为会长。著有《新闻摄影论集》、《新闻摄影140年》、《新闻摄影的价值与规律》等六部
In June 1997, on the 80th birthday of Comrade Jiang Qisheng, China Society of Press Photography held a press photo theory seminar for him. This is the first time for China’s photojournalism community to hold a symposium for individuals. Regrettably, he passed away on July 9 after a month or so of relapse due to cerebral thrombosis. Jiang Qisheng (1917-1997) was born in Huxian County, Shaanxi Province. 1937 September Yanan into North Shaanxi public school learning. Served as deputy director of the Xinhua News Agency Peking office, Xinhua News Agency photojournalist, Xinhua News Agency Photo Department researcher, retired in 1982, formed in 1983 China Journalism photography and was elected president.
