阿多诺认为,真正的艺术在资本主义的侵蚀下已经退去了昔日的光环,在顺从这种齐一化模式中成为了商业的附庸,迫使传统美学与艺术逐渐分离,其特性在标准、程序批量生产、机械复制的过程中消融,丧失了艺术主体原有的社会批判的功能,仅留下一具所谓艺术的空壳。艺术的危机实际上也是人自身的危机,阿多诺的目标围绕着人性的解放与救赎,他的这一过程是在整个艺术创作、艺术批评等领域中实现的。他主张艺术真理必须以否定性的乌托邦模式,坚守反抗与批判社会的姿态,努力探索和彰显艺术的社会功能,为美学拯救人类精神提供更多的可能性。
Adorno argues that real art has receded from its former aura under the erosion of capitalism and has become a vassal of commerce in conforming to this pattern of unity and forcing the gradual separation of traditional aesthetics from art, Mass production, mechanical copying ablation, the original main body of the arts lost the function of social criticism, leaving only a so-called art of the shell. The crisis of art is actually a crisis of man himself. Adorno’s goal revolves around liberation and redemption of human nature. His process is realized in the whole field of art creation and art criticism. He advocated that art truth must adhere to the attitude of resistance and criticism in the negative utopian mode, explore and demonstrate the social function of art, and provide more possibilities for aesthetics to save the human spirit.
