晚白柚系我所1979年从中国农业科学院柑桔研究所引入接穗,以酸柚作砧木嫁接,于1980年秋定植在本所品种园内,株行距为5×5米。1982年开花试果,1982～1987年对其生长结果习性、产量、果实品质及抗逆性等主要经济性状进行评价,并与同时引进的54个柚类品种比较,初步看出该品种具有早结果、早丰产、耐贮藏、品质优等特点。因地制宜地推广晚白柚,对解决柚类结果迟、产量低、调节市场供应是一个值得重视的途径。现将几年来的观察结果整理如下。
