Winter over the hawthorn and other deciduous fruiting branches of the malondialdehyde (MDA) determination results show that the branches of MDA content increases with the decline of natural temperature; cold hardy varieties of low MDA content, cold hardiness varieties MDA content high. This result is consistent with the change of electrolyte leakage rate of the test material. The injury of fruit trees over the winter is related to free radical damage. Tested on the MDA content and electrolyte exudation rate of different resistant varieties, t test was carried out respectively. It may be more sensitive and precise than the electrolyte leakage rate to use the MDA content as the identification index of the cold resistance.
