Cochlear outer hair cells exist many outgoing nerve fibers, the general thought that the physical function of this outgoing fiber is to inhibit the cochlear potential, but the role of cytology and biological mechanisms have not yet been clarified. According to the mechano-electrical signaling model of cochlear hair cells, the impulse of the outgoing nerve fibers may increase the concentration of calcium ions, activating the potassium channel, thereby hyperpolarizing the hair cells. This article tested the effect of a series of neurotransmitters on the concentration of calcium in the outer hair cells to explore the mechanism of the efferent activity of the outgoing nerve fibers on the outer hair cells.
