国家开放大学是教育部直属的,以现代信息技术为支撑,办学网络立体覆盖全国城乡,主要面向成人开展远程开放教育的新型高等学校。国家开放大学是在中央广播电视大学的基础上建立的。中央广播电视大学和44所省级广播电视大学及其分校,工作站组成了遍布全国的现代远程开放教育教学系统。截至2013年春季,中央广播电视大学开放教育累计注册学生980余万人;累计毕业学生570余万人,其中本科毕业生180余万人,专科毕业生近390万人。
The National Open University is directly under the Ministry of Education. Supported by modern information technology, the network of running schools covers the entire urban and rural areas in China. It is mainly aimed at new-typed higher education institutions that carry out open and distance education for adults. The National Open University was established on the basis of the Central Radio and Television University. The Central Radio and Television University and 44 provincial radio and TV universities, their branches and workstations have formed modern and open education and teaching systems all over the country. As of the spring of 2013, there were a total of more than 980,000 registered students in the open education of the China Central Broadcasting and Television University. There were more than 570,000 graduated students, including more than 1.8 million graduates and nearly 3.9 million junior college graduates.
