Objective To observe the effect of mission education based on the network virtual community platform in the management of post-natal glycemic control and acute adverse events in diabetic patients. Methods One hundred and twenty-four patients with diabetes mellitus were randomly divided into control group, mobile phone message group and WeChat group which used WeChat to create online virtual community. Random blood glucose value of each group within 6 months after hospitalization was compared with that of the third and sixth month Glycated hemoglobin value, and the occurrence of acute adverse events of diabetes. Results In all 6 observation months, the random blood glucose of WeChat group was lower than that of control group and SMS group in the same month (P <0.05). The WeChat group had no significant difference in the 3rd and 6th month of HbA1c (P <0.05). The overall incidence of acute adverse events such as hypoglycemia within 6 months after hospitalization in WeChat group was significantly lower than that in control group and SMS group. Conclusion The mission-based approach based on the network virtual community platform is conducive to the management of postprandial blood glucose in diabetic patients and reduces the incidence of acute adverse events of diabetes.
