The effects of high pressure sintering on critical current and mechanical properties of Bi-2223 / Ag HTS tapes were investigated. The results show that the critical current of strip increases by 30%, the tensile strength increases to 104 MPa and the critical bending strain of strip increases from 0.54% to 0.91%. The reasons of improving the electrical and mechanical properties of the strip were analyzed by XRD, Omega scanning and SEM. The results show that high-pressure sintering is beneficial to the formation of Bi-2223 phase, and the phase content of Bi-2223 increases and the content of residual Bi-2212 phase decreases. The content of Bi-2223 phase in atmospheric pressure sintering and high- The FWHM of the grains at 6.5 ° and 5.6 °, respectively, indicates that the Bi-2223 grains in the high-pressure sintered tape are arranged more neatly. In addition, high-pressure sintering is found to make the tape interior more compact by observing the longitudinal section of the tape. It is the synergy of the three aspects that greatly increases the critical current and mechanical properties of the strip.
