一、自然概况江南林场位于吉林省磐石县东南。海拔286—840m,坡度5—25°,土壤为暗棕色森林土,土层厚度15—40cm,50多年前境内原生植被为地带性阔叶红松林。现有林除部分解放后营造的红松、落叶松人工林外,几乎全为屡遭破坏届演替而成的次生植被。主要树种为山杨、核桃楸、水曲柳、椴树、黄波罗、柞树、(木色)树和榆树等阔叶树种。经营区属湿润型温带大陆性气候,无霜期140天,年平均温度3.5℃,7月份平均气温20.4℃,1月份平均气温-20.8℃,年平均降雨量787mm。
