Objective To study the correlation between plasma D-dimer and C-reactive protein and senile pneumonia, and to explore the value of both of them in the diagnosis, severity and prognosis of senile pneumonia. Methods Plasma concentrations of D-dimer and C-reactive protein were measured in 96 elderly patients with pneumonia. The changes of plasma D-dimer and C-reactive protein levels before and after treatment were compared with those of the control group, and the correlations of different CURB-65 Differences in plasma levels of D-dimer and C-reactive protein in the scoring group. Results The levels of plasma D-dimer and C-reactive protein in elderly patients with pneumonia before treatment were significantly higher than those in the control group and after treatment. The higher the CURB-65 score, the higher the levels of D-dimer and C-reactive protein. Conclusion The detection of plasma D-dimer and C-reactive protein has some clinical significance in the early diagnosis, severity judgment and prognosis of elderly patients with pneumonia.
