Hu Shih always preferred vernacular, even the seal does not need classical Chinese, but “vernacular book” this vernacular. However, in telegram, Hu Shi almost all use the classical Chinese, or even idioms or poems, because this can save many words, save costs. In the autumn of 1930, Hu Shih went to Shanghai by boat from Shanghai. Yang Zhen Sheng, then president of Qingdao University, invited Hu Shih to give a speech. unexpectedly
