A lot of teachers wrote that electrolytes and non-electrolytes are discussed within the scope of compounds, and hydrochloric acid (aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride gas) is a mixture that has exceeded the category of compounds. Therefore, it cannot be said that hydrochloric acid is an electrolyte or a non-electrolyte. This kind of blindness from the definition, the idea of the absolute concept of the electrolyte is not appropriate. Lenin said: “Any scientific principle concerning the structure of matter and its properties is of an approximate relative nature.” Without exception, the concept of electrolytes cannot exactly state the structure and properties of all electrolytes. Although the structure of hydrochloric acid is somewhat inconsistent with the concept of the electrolyte, the hydrochloric acid solution can conduct electricity, and its essential properties are the same as the electrolyte. Therefore, hydrochloric acid is the electrolyte.
