2005年中国首届国际绿博会在南京召开,位于南京河西新区的绿博园就是为此专门设计建造的。绿博园由法国PBA(建筑设计与城市规划)国际有限公司与江苏省规划设计研究院合作设计。依照绿博园区规划方案设计要求,园内除大量的室外园地展场外,主要由两大建筑组成:一,主展馆,为会展期间各种会议和多种形式的展览而准备,它将是这座大型绿色园区的地标,面积约10000平方米左右;二,温室.为人们展示不同种类的植物植被和树木花草而提供的室内空间环境,面积约5000平方米左右。
