江西省德(安)武(宁)修(水)线公路计长174公里有临时式木桥100余座,延长1,000余公尺,各桥所跨越的河流,绝大部分系山溪河,河水骤长骤退,洪汛时期,水势更形汹涌,对木桥的危害性是相当严重的。1954年6月曾冲毁大小桥梁3座,延长70公尺;1955年6月又冲毁桥梁4座,延长50余公尺,交通被阻达半月以上,且花了许多抢修经费。因此每年3至6月,我们养路工作人员,看到天下大雨,就寝食不安,但经过这两年的教训,我们已取得了一些经验。我们体会了中央交通部公路总局所指示的“预防为主”的精神,在1956年汛期前,加强了水害防护工作、胜利渡过汛期,各桥均未遭受水毁,并且保证了雨季交通。兹将我们的防护工作分述于后:
There are more than 100 temporary wooden bridges in the 174 km of roads covered by the De’an (Wu) (Ning) Xiushui (Water) Line in Jiangxi Province. With an extension of 1,000 meters, most of the rivers spanned by the bridges are Shaxi River, Sudden retreat of the river, the flood season, the water potential more turbulent, harmful to the wooden bridge is quite serious. In June 1954, 3 large and small bridges were destroyed and extended by 70 meters. In June 1955, 4 bridges were destroyed and more than 50 meters were extended. Traffic was blocked for more than half a month and a lot of repairs were spent. Therefore, from March to June every year, we maintain road maintenance staff. When we see heavy rains, we feel restless. However, after these two years of teaching, we have gained some experience. We realized the spirit of “prevention first” as indicated by the Central Government Administration of Communications of the Central Transport Ministry. Before the flood season in 1956, we stepped up efforts to prevent water damage and successfully crossed the flood season.
