Eugene Gerden, WBPI’s Russian journalist, reports that Ugra-Plit in Russia will set up the largest OSB plant in Western Siberia and the Urals. Ugra-Plit is Russia’s largest producer of particleboard and is headquartered in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Oblast, Russia’s oil production center. The project is estimated to cost 3.5 billion rubles (US $ 100 million) and the local Kostromalesproekt company completed the project design with many of the plant’s equipment supplied by Siempelkamp Maschinen und Anlagenbau GmbH & Co.KG. The factory is expected to start operation in the first half of 2016. In the first stage, the capacity will be about 200,000 m 3 OSB per year and will be increased to at least 250,000 m 3 afterwards.
