YULAN, or magnolia, is a white flower which has big white petals and gives off a light fragrance which can be smelled from far away. The blossoms look grand, graceful and energetic. There is a woman named Yulan, who possesses the best characteristics of her namesake—she is elegant, energetic, and has great strength of character. She is Li Yulan, a chief performer of the Central Song and Dance Ensemble.
