2016年,“山东非法经营疫苗案”被媒体广泛报道,引起社会关注。今年全国两会上,这一案件被写入最高检工作报告。最高人民检察院检察长曹建明表示,庞红卫等人非法经营疫苗案曝光后,最高检立即挂牌督办,检察机关批准逮捕355人,已起诉291人,立案查处职务犯罪174人。5月19日,山东省高级人民法院微博发出信息,对上诉人庞红卫、孙琪非法经营疫苗一案二审公开开庭宣判,裁定驳回庞红卫、孙琪的上诉,维持原判。
